"I have been a client of The Carter Group for approx 15 years. The initial risk assessment of my financial position resulted in trauma, income replacement and term life policies being written. The process was painless with excellent service at my convenience. The only thing I did not like was the premium payments as I was never going to need to utilise the cover. Wrong assumption!! A heart attack hit me in 2000. Big surprise the next day when my third visitor (after wife and solicitor) was the principal of The Carter Group genuinely concerned at my position and reassuring that my trauma cover would provide $300,000.00. He even insisted on doing the paperwork and personally liaised with my medical team to ensure a speedy settlement which occurred within a matter of weeks. BUT there’s more. He further advised the income replacement policy would also pay out for six months regardless of whether I went back to work or not. Again all I was required to do was sign the claim form and six payments of over $6000.00 arrived in my account each month – magic. Full on work became increasingly difficult over the ensuing years and I began to suffer depression. Finally it became impossible to continue work in my normal occupation and again I contacted The Carter Group on the chance I may still have the relevant cover. Unable to face the complexity (mainly in my imagination) of the claim form I was again assisted in a totally professional and compassionate way. After the prescribed waiting period, monthly credits have arrived exactly on the due date for an amount in excess of $7,000.00. To date this has occurred for over 12 months and if I am unable to perform my normal duties will be paid (with upward indexation annually) until I reach 70 years of age. Even dealing directly with the underwriter to establish the ongoing bona fides of my claim was conducted with understanding and assistance. While my greatest wish is to return to work, my current reality prevents this. The benefits provided under these policies have enabled me and my family to continue to live a comfortable lifestyle and keep up with increased medical costs. The Carter Group has been exceptional with their advice, service and personal assistance above and beyond the call of duty. The only regret I have is not taking their advice and increasing the cover over time. In these times of self selection you may or may not be able to find cheaper cover on the internet but do you have the expertise to be sure it is the right cover, that the company will be there to pay your claim (I have personal knowledge where the underwriter had folded) over possibly several decades and just as importantly can you get professional assistance at the time of claim as well as the time of sale. As you may have gathered, my experience has been real and free of the many horror stories you hear concerning insurance companies and brokers. "I met Craig Ball after I was referred to him as “someone who may be able to help me” sometime after being involved in a car accident. At the time I was in the position of having an insurance advisor and insurance policies of long standing. However when I was in the unfortunate position of needing to put in a claim on my disability insurance policy it was then that I found my agent provided me with less than satisfactory service and the claim on my insurance policy was taking many weeks to process.
